Our surveyors have warranted and supervised hundreds of project cargoes, from large heavy lifts (modules, tanks, shiploaders and mining equipment) to high value break bulk cargoes. Whether the cargo has had a detailed Loading Plan or has been left to individual ship's crew for lashing, our basic approach is always "What does it weigh? What is it worth?"
We ensure our client's cargo is safely loaded.
Ocean Towing/Sea Transport
Maritime Engineers' senior staff have had a long, professional involvement in ocean towing and sea transport of cargoes by tug and barge dating back to the early seventies.
We have designed specialised towing rigs for dozens of unusual or unique tows including concrete structures, dredging equipment and double tows.
We provide tow masters for voyages some over thousands of miles and others have been through shallow and treacherous river and estuary systems.
Our surveyors have warranted thousands of project cargo tows from heavy bulk cargoes to high value break bulk and module cargoes.
Our Engineering Design Office supplements these activities providing towing resistance calculations, towing plans, towing equipment selection and seafastening design.
We produce Towing Manuals and Procedures, pre-tow checklists, tow gear and wire inspections and advise on equipment failure and maintenance procedures.
